iBinge: Burp-fest at Sicilian Express

Posted By sneezeniz on Oct 13, 2009 at 11:58PM

We never thought that volunteering can actually make our stomachs growl. When the clock strike 8, the "bulate" in our tummy were having a revolution! "We want food!" Immediate action is needed, we should make a food killing somewhere near. So Sicilian Express in McKinley Hill was conveniently within the area.

Kiara and I seemed to have lost the last energy we had, we were quiet all along while waiting for our food. Jason and Ri on the other hand was hyped up like crazy.

This was actually my brother's treat for his upcoming birthday. How exactly do you greet a friend on his birthday? Let Ri demonstrate it:

Waaaapaaak! Happy Birthday Jason!

iLove: Volunteering at White Space

Posted By sneezeniz on Oct 13, 2009 at 11:28PM

After Ondoy left the Philippines with Manila and Northern Luzon as such a disaster, private individuals have organized relief centers left and right to deploy goods to affected areas. Some relief centers were overmanned, some were a little chaotic while White Space for us was the perfect relief center since I would be bringing Kiara along and it's close our place.

I praise the organizers since everything is well organized. I find it eally inspiring that private individuals have been making extra effort to help out the victims of the typhoon.

We found it fun since we get to meet a lot of people and we get to carry those heavy boxes...boys and girls alike!

Kiara has been begging that we go help out too, but I told her we have to make sure what we have to expect. So when my brother gave us a go, we were already so ready!

I've seen TV personalities but it's the little girls the little kids that were helping out that made me go "awww". And of course my little girl was all out, I could see sweat forming but she never complained a single minute. I told you my daughter is really domesticated!

There are numerous relief centers so I wasn't expecting to see anyone I know -- especially not someone I know from Iloilo. But Honeylette was there! Iloilo represent!

While my brother had the most friends both from CSB and CEU.

And funny how you'd discover a lot of things while repacking. This is what we found:

Overall it was exhausting, but very fulfilling.
