iLove: Harry Potter & Theodore's

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 29, 2009 at 6:54PM

I'm still backlogged with my blogs. July 17, it's no surprise that people would flock to theaters to welcome Harry and the gang back to the big screen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Kiara, Jason and I were of no exception.

Almost all seats were sold out so we had to settle with the not-so-great-seat which was close to the screen! But I must say, this would be the funniest of the Harry Potter series. And I thought Warner Bros. and David Yates did a fine job with the film. When the 3-hour movie finally came to a close, I was actually complaining that the movie was "bitin"! Sheesh, that would mean that I'd have to wait another year for the last installment.

Oh well, we headed to Bonifacio High Street since my brother said Theodore's was on sale.

While my brother were trying some clothes on, Kiara was busy lounging at the place and took advantage at the fact that we were the only customers at that time.

I'm broke. We'll have to call it a night.

iLove: Bowling!

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 29, 2009 at 6:01PM

Kiara was begging me all week long to try our luck in bowling. And finally this Saturday, we had our first ever bowling experience. I was just glad that my brother was with us, because he's been doing this for sometime now. As a neophite, I asked my brother to go first but then he had to get something from his pad. But we didn't start until my brother got back, he had to teach me those bowling moves he had in store.

This is basically mine and Kiara's baptism to the fun fun world of bowling!

Once we got our bowling shoes Kiara instantly put hers on, I could see her eyes sparkle while we were getting ready. After I did my first shot, she was ready for her turn with the ball in her hands. Soon after she released her ball, she was up and jumping, and adorably cheering on that little thing rolling down the isle. Believe it or not she's actually aiming for a strike! That says a lot about her, she really does aim high in everything she's ever done. But that's a different story altogether.

My brother was asking me: who's G?

Janiz: Ahh, umm...It actually stand for GERALD. Not my fault! It was the assistant who typed your name. I clearly said - JERARD.

Jerard: Ach, that sucks!

Janiz: Deal with it, it's just a name.

My brother is not new to the bowling scene so he taught us what he knew so far. It was so much fun playing with at least 3 players so the intervals wouldn't be that fast.

Guess who won?!

Kiara! Such a dork! She's just good with anything. I swear we didn't loose on purpose, we all wanted to win! But then again my 9-year old beat us! Tsk tsk. Congratulations baby, you're the Rookie of the Year! *mwah*

iBinge: Il Pirata with Kookie

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 29, 2009 at 9:18AM

Haay nakows, I'm sucha lazy ass! It had been months and I just found time to post this. While my good friend Kookie came to Manila for a visit, we went to a food spulrge and a little shopping on the side too. We were too tired to even think of a place to eat. So we tried our luck with "Il Pirata"

If you may have noticed, I usually have pasta or pizza but whenever my daughter's around, any kind of meat would be on our table.

We had the place almost to ourselves since we opted to stay inside rather than the noisy outdoors. The interiors were as if we were inside a ship.

We didn't have alcohol that night so we had tea instead.

iAdore: Me & U

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 29, 2009 at 7:56AM

We've been frequently in Eastwood ever since my brother moved there. If not for my brother, I don't know if I'd ever see an inch of Eastwood! haha But I've noticed recently that new concept stores have opened in the new Eastwood mall. Like "Me & U" a very interesting store for couples. The owners are couples too, and I came to know them while joining bazaars in Rockwell.

I brought a friend there and she was beaming with happiness when she saw all the cute stuffs she could bring home. You can check it out and you'll find yourself bringing home something unintentionally. *grin*

iLove: Flying and airplanes

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 23, 2009 at 1:09PM

Our family has a distinct fascination for airplanes. We love to travel and we were actually hoping that one of my brothers would turn out to be a pilot. Maybe we just love them too much that we drove an hour and a half just to see one.

The weather wasn't the greatest but since it didn't give us clear skies, at least it wasn't raining, just overcast. My daughter hates having to step on water puddles but since she wanted to get to the "cute little plane" (she calls), she endured the long walk on the wet grass, just to get a closer look on the plane.

Kiara: Mom, it's open! Can I?

Janiz: Nope, it's not allowed, just peek.

Kiara: (doesn't listen to mom) It budged!

Janiz: No Kiara, I told you not to.

Kiara: But mom, it says: Pull to open. It means that it welcomes passengers!

Janiz: That sign, is not talking to you little girl.

Kiara: It is.

Janiz: (Argh. Stubborn little girl!) Fine, have it your way.

If you may have noticed. I've been using much of my humble iPhone, basically there's been no flash photography for me, so excuse my pictures.

iLove: Weekend Ritual

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 23, 2009 at 12:16PM

I'm the type of person that's really easy to find. I'd honestly want to stick with some rituals. Now that we're here in Manila, we're making new habits. Like going to mass on Saturday, visit the bookstore, hang out and maybe watch a movie. And we've been sticking to that almost every weekend now. Sometimes we're glad some friends would join in.

We practically stayed up too long that the mall was already closed when we got to finish our Starbucks hang out time.

Kiara finished one book in one sitting, can you imagine that?! She reads faster than I do! That's why she's still up and about while I was still engrossed with my unfinished book read.

On Janiz: Top and jeans by POMELO Lifestyle, shoes was a bazaar find.

On Kiara: Top by Dissney, shorts by KOB, shoes by Secret Garden.

On Jason: Jacket by Zara, top and jeans by Topman, Chucks by Converse.

iLove: Sweetest thing.

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 20, 2009 at 10:38PM

My daugther has been improving on her new found career, being a cook. Yeah, we've been cooking pretty much lately. So one day, I woke up with this:

She's the sweetest! I don't remember a declaration that Mother's Day has been moved or has she mistaken this day to be my birthday?

Janiz: Wow baby! It's so sweet of you.

Kiara: *big grin*

Janiz: Do you need anything?

Kiara: No. *frowning*

Janiz: Was Mother's day moved to this day?

Kiara: No again. What's wrong with cooking something for you?

Janiz: Nothing. And I'm glad that you did. You made my day.

iBinge: Blame it on Racks

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 19, 2009 at 7:20PM

There's a lot of things to blame others for. Some blame it on the alcohol (just like the song), as for me and my on gong weight problem, I've got nothing else to blame but my growing appetite. My excuse, we need good food to live. LAME! And I know that, but how could you resist this thing?

Being around the infamous backribs of Racks? Yes, I was tempted...and I gave in. The only problem is, I was not content with backribs alone, I had it with chicken too. Sinful! I wished it's something Santa could fix. I've been really bad. And I'm repentant, just take off some of my fats! I'm not asking too much.

iStyle: Hannah Montana weekend

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 19, 2009 at 3:41PM

A weekend ago, my daughter watched one of Disney's most anticipated movie of the year, Hannah Montana The Movie. At first I thought Kiara has outgrown the show, and us watching was merely out of curiosity, but I guess it wasn't so. Yes, I'm that type of mom who still watches cartoons with my little girl, and honestly I do enjoy watching these kinds of shows. So watching Hannah Montana on the big screen wasn't such a drag for me.

As for the movie review, I just can say that the movie is a big cliche. But I still honestly believe that Miley Cirus is given one of the biggest oppurtunities, given the chance to be one of the Disney icons that's been adored by millions of little girls, aspiring to be someone like her. Maybe Disney has been doing these kinds of movies for decades but what they may have improved are the songs. You'd find me singing along while the whole movie was running.

It was honestly just a coincidence. We totally forgot we were actually watching the movie, the only time we actually realized what Kiara was wearing was when we were in line to get our tickets and we were given the weird stare. I believe they were screaming at us in their minds: "Hannah Montana fan much?"

Even when we were home, we were still humming the tunes to the songs. You can try to dance along with Hannah too and do the hoedown!

I was joining Kiara but these kinds of things are too much for me already. I have to draw the line.

iBinge: Sonya's Garden

Posted By sneezeniz on Jul 14, 2009 at 9:00PM

Here's another one of my quest to repost some of those I've posted in SneezeNiz.

TAGAYTAY -- Like I've said before, Tagaytay's one of my favorite weekend escape. I could only tell you so much about the place through stories about where I've been. And one of the spot we'd usually visit is Sonya's Garden. As the name suggest, the garden feel brings me closer to home. I love the smell of flowers and fresh air. It makes me miss our "humble" garden back home. I wish I could bring the Tagaytay weather home too. It'll be perfect for our little place. But besides the ambiance, Sonya's Garden also means a detox lunch.
