One of the things I miss most in Iloilo is having to fulfill my dessert fix and paying more than half the price off compared to how much they charge here in Manila. One of the dessert stop I frequent in Iloilo is my family's old time favorite Bird House. I love their beehive and other desserts, the prices are reasonable.

See the sign? "Thank you for not dieting." It just reminds me to be on a diet all the more.
We're the type of family who's never afraid of colors. We love colorful things and wearing then would mean a really bright day ahead. My daughter's outfit would not limit to kids stuff over at the department store, we'd often experiment. The outfit she's wearing was actually meant to be women's short dress, I just had it altered to fit my little girl.

I want my outfit to be as sunny as my daughter's. Since the weather in the Philippines is so damn humid hot, so I let out my short skirt. I love the embroidery and the bead work. The only drawback is that I'd have to be careful where I sit. I sat in a rattan chair at the store and some of the beads got stuck so I had to sew them back in.

I'm disappointed with myself today. I woke up feeling a bit down, unmotivated in every way. I just want to curl up in bed and watch a good movie. I may be missing the habit I have back home in Iloilo. Usually my day would start with a great breakfast with my dad almost al fresco style since it would over look the whole property. Then I'd spend the rest of the day in our store in the city. And when I feel like this, I'd just get up and walk around and find myself in some local restaurant. One of these is Green Mango.

Down of not, you'd think I'm binging when you'd catch me eating here. Since I'm a sucha rice whore, their unlimited rice is just for me. I'd usually have 3 servings of rice, explains the 15 pound weight gain. And I'm not slowing down anytime soon, you'll just find me complaining about my unwanted fat though.

Did you see the look in my face?! Ready to dig in! I'd usually have lechon kawali, healthy huh? hehe That's me.
In the spirit of Father's day, I want to share the moment when I'd see my daughter smile and giggle in a way that she can only share with a man. At the moment, I want to introduce you to the man in my daughter's life -- for now.

As for the other men in her life, her grandpas. I want to thank you too, for loving my princess like it was your own. Kiara would never stop loving every bit of you, your thoughtfulness, your warmth. She appreciates them all. You can read about it and see what she made for her 3 kings in her blog iKiara.
My father taught me about life,
not with words, but how he lived his.

The hardest part about writing about my dad is that I don’t know what great things to start with. There's so much to talk about and so may great memories yet so little time for me to write all of it. I would like to start by saying, “I love you.” Thank you for always being there, and for trying to be the best that you can for us.

Happy Father's Day!

To all the fathers in the world.
When it's not raining, it would most definitely be hot, nothing in between when you're in the third world. And the weather is crazy! So outfits should resist both the heat and the rain. And I love dressing my life size doll.

While I on the other hand can't understand why I'm so attracted to this new color: Spearmint. I guess this minty fresh hue serves its purpose and give me a fresh feel.

I am clearly backlogged, we attended a wedding on May. Actually we weren't prepared at all, so when someone said go we scanned our closets for a possible wedding get-up. Kiara wanted to wear white to beat the heat.

While I opted for a knee-length hand-painted dress.

"Maybe happiness didn't have to be about the big, sweeping circumstances, about having everything in your life in place. Maybe it was about stringing together a bunch of small pleasures. Wearing slippers and watching the Miss Universe contest. Eating a brownie with vanilla ice cream. Getting to level seven in Dragon Master and knowing there were twenty more levels to go.
Maybe happiness was just a matter of the little upticks- the traffic signal that said "Walk" the second you go there- and downticks- the itch tag at the back of your collar- that happened to every person in the course of the day. Maybe everybody had the same allotted measure of happiness within each day.

Maybe it didn't matter if you were a world-famous heartthrob or a painful geek. Maybe it didn't matter if your friend was possibly dying.
Maybe you just got through it. Maybe that was all you could ask for."

Now that we're back in Manila for good. Some old habits are slowly coming back too. Like my daughter's fascination for books. If you still don't know about it, she could finish a book from cover to cover in less than an hour. So we've basically amassed a number of books over the years. But my daughter would reason: "A book is a gift that you can open again and again."

We love Fully Booked because you get to read some of the books out of the shelves. So some of those that my daughter could finish is less than an hour, I'd ask her to read it right out like it was some kind of library.
"A bookstore is one of the pieces of evidence that we have people that are still thinking."

Forgive my photos since it was just taken by my humble iPhone.
BACOLOD - The thing about me is I love love love organic oils and soaps. And I was almost jumping for joy when I discovered Fresh Start Organic Personal Care in Bacolod since I'm running out of organic soap and I'd be waiting to get back to Manila to get one.

I wasn't really expecting to find one in Bacolod so I basically hoarded their oils and soaps since it was really affordable. I slept well that night to the calming scent of Lavender.
